The never ending nightmare of not getting a Bounce Back Loan was very real and many people were hoping one bank at least would open up their new account systems and would let those who had not been able to apply for a BBL continued for many during week twenty nine of that scheme.
That week ran from the 16th of November through to and including the 22nd of November 2020 and below is a video of just some of the many messages, complaints and even success stories I received during that week.
Below you will see an overview of anything that did happen of interest and an insight into the many ongoing problems that were still being experienced throughout week twenty nine of the Bounce Back Loan scheme.
It was fair and true to say at this point in time Many Business Owners Have Now Given Up All Hope of Getting a Bounce Back Loan as without any banks opening up to new customers and just one bank offering people the chance of getting a business account that being Starling but with their waiting list in place, many people gave up.
The Cries of Despair and Bounce Back Loan Complaints Continue to Pour In with many business owners now coming to the realisation that without a BBL and many not qualifying for grants there was no way that they could save their businesses.
As top ups went live the previous week and as many people still couldn’t access one I updated everyone during this week with another Bounce Back Loan Top-Up Delays Current State of Play article along with an update on Metro Bank Top-Ups, Starling Bank Now Paying, and an Update on GC Business Finance and BBL Stats.
Most complaints this week were regarding top ups or the lack of them and that led me to update everyone in my BBL Top-Ups – Shenanigans, Delays, Tears and Tantrums, Humour and the Odd Payment Too article.
It was true to say that UK Banks Continue to Give Small Business Owners the Middle Finger as proven with 8 Bounce Back Loan Lenders Not Yet Authorised to Offer Top-Ups even a good week or so after top ups went live with other banks.
I also put together an updated article on the CMA announcement regarding new customers which you will find in my aptly named *UPDATED* CMA orders 8 Banks to Allow Non-Customers to Apply for a Bounce Back Loan piece.
