Today, Saturday the 4th of May 2024, I decided to rattle the cage of Paul Scully MP, as I knew he would be sat there, mobile phone in hand, watching the results of the London Mayoral Election, thinking to himself the Conservative Candidate could have been himself.
You may recall, I did meet him a while ago, whilst he was still a Minister to badger him about the Bounce Back Loan scheme and whilst sat with him, I did also ask him would the Government do anything to help the Excluded, those being the millions of business owners that didn’t get a penny piece in support during lockdown and beyond.
Anyway, here is our Twitter exchange from today, and whilst I was obviously goading him at the beginning to garner a response, he does admit whilst he has recently replayed my meeting and discussion with him, he feels he personally couldn’t have done more to help those excluded from support, but the Government as a whole could have done more.
Oh, and excuse my fruity language…..
