Many people caught up in the HSBC Bank Bounce Back Loan saga would say those working behind the scenes at that bank do not know their arses from their elbows.
As the biggest lender that was part of that scheme things were bound to go wrong, and they did repeatedly for many people trying to get an account and then a Bounce Back Loan from them.
Long delays, useless support staff and all manner of other problems were experienced by many, most of which are documented somewhere upon this website.
However, it does have to be said that as a bank they did 100% get into the spirit of that scheme (before they slammed the door shut) and would allow new customers and even customers of other banks to apply for a business/feeder account then a Bounce Back Loan with them.
