I found this case interesting, for the Directors’ last known address happens to be in the same flat, in Sutton, Surrey, where another BBL Blagger claims to live.

Below is an overview of this case, and the other one for reference, can be found here >> Anatoli Nikolaev, the Director of Svishtov Ltd Slapped with a 10 Year Ban for Over-Egging His Company Turnover to Blag a £50,000 BBL from Lloyds Bank – Liquidator Confirms They Are Not Chasing Him as He Has No Assets

That address was: Flat 12, Greensleeves Manor, Grove Road, Surrey, SUTTON, SM1 2AF

Overview of the Yana Sakutova Case

On 04 October 2020, Mrs Yana Sakutova (“Mrs Sakutova”) breached the terms of the Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) scheme by causing Yanbe Ltd (“Yanbe”) to overstate its turnover on its application for a BBL, resulting in the company receiving a BBL of £50,000 when she knew, or ought to have known, that Yanbe was not eligible for a loan of that value.

In that:

  • The BBL scheme terms allowed businesses to receive a loan of up to 25% of their annual turnover for the 2019 calendar year, which the applicant would self-certify when completing the BBL application.
  • If a company was established after 01 January 2019, they were allowed to estimate the company turnover from the date the company started to trade.
  • Yanbe was incorporated on 09 February 2015. Mrs Sakutova declared on the company’s BBL application form an annual turnover of £218,000 for 2019, and consequently on 07 October 2020 Yanbe received a £50,000 BBL.
  • Bank statements for the period 01 January 2019 to 31 December 2019 show receipts of £26,627.35
  • This would have meant the company was eligible to apply for a BBL of £6,657.
  • The overstatement of turnover totalling £191,372.65 meant that Yanbe received £43,343 more than it was entitled to from the BBL scheme.
  • Yanbe entered Creditor’s Voluntary Liquidation on 27 October 2022.
  • At liquidation, Yanbe had liabilities totalling £49,197.88, of which £47,020.62 was owed to the bank in respect of the BBL.
