There have been, I don’t mind admitting, a few times during my stint as Mr Bounce Back, that I have had tears in my eyes.
In the early days of the Bounce Back Loan scheme, I would often get overwhelmed, when those who had been to hell and back simply trying to get a desperately needed BBL finally got one
Some of the calls I have had on my helpline often see me getting tears in my eyes.
Just had one such call, which was from someone I obviously wont name, which did have me in tears, but tears of joy.
They had been struggling with worries about repaying their BBL and had received one of the BBL Defaulter Discount Letters.

I had explained to them what it entailed and they are legit, and whilst completely unable to afford the initial discount amount offered, they put in a much lower offer with the little funds they had available and had managed to scrape together.
Their business was sadly one of many that hadn’t Bounced Back.
I am sat here chuffed to bits to report that the bank have accepted the offer, and once that person makes the payment, and they do have a little bit of time to do so, that will be the end of the matter, with the BBL Lender and their Debt Collector not taking any further action, with the remaining amount written off.
Whilst I have seen a never ending stream of BBLs being written off and discounts offered and accepted, daily, that call had me welling up a little.
It is calls like that, that spur me on to be there for the next caller. If you know that next caller is you or needs to be you, pick up the phone and give me a bell.
