Chelsea put a stop to their three-game losing streak in emphatic fashion on Tuesday after bagging a dominant 4-0 victory over bottom-of-the-table Southampton at Stamford Bridge. 

The much-needed win lifted them to the fourth position in the Premier League, keeping their Champions League hopes firmly alive.

After a tense start, Chelsea took full control with three first-half goals from Christopher Nkunku, Pedro Neto, and Levi Colwill, managing to ease the tension among home supporters. 

Marc Cucurella added a fourth late in the game, assisted by academy graduate Tyrique George, rounding off a near-perfect night for head coach Enzo Maresca. 

The victory tasted even sweeter in the context of the defeats recorded by rivals Bournemouth and Aston Villa in parallel, both strengthening Chelsea’s position in the top-four race.

Palmer Is Still Striggling

Southampton, Close to Finishing With the Lowest Tally in History

For Southampton, Tuesday’s defeat represented yet another blow in a miserable campaign that currently threatens to see them set an unwanted Premier League record. 

With 11 games remaining, they must secure at least three more points to avoid finishing with the lowest tally in league history.
