Šeško Strikes Again as Man United Beat Everton

Benjamin Šeško scores the winner against Everton FC in Premier League 2025 Season

Summary:

  • Benjamin Šeško scored off the bench to secure a 1-0 win at Everton.
  • Manchester United extended their unbeaten run to 10 games and moved into fourth place.
  • Goalkeeper Senne Lammens starred with key saves to protect the lead.

Benjamin Šeško made his impact count once again, coming off the bench to score the only goal as Manchester United edged past Everton 1-0 and climbed back into the Premier League’s top four.

10 Consecutive Games Without Loss

The 22-year-old striker finished a sharp counterattack in the second half, continuing his habit of delivering when it matters the most. It was his third substitute goal of the season, more than any other player in the league, and it kept United’s unbeaten run alive at 10 matches.

Until that point, United had struggled to create much. Everton, itself short on confidence after several winless games at home, kept things tight and frustrated the visitors for long stretches.

The breakthrough came from a quick transition, when the three summer signings combined with Matheus Cunha starting the move with an excellent pass out wide to Bryan Mbeumo, and the attack quickly gathered pace. Once the chance fell to Šeško, he made no mistake.

Excellent Night for Goalkeeper Lammens

Everton did their best to respond, but they were met with United’s goalkeeper Senne Lammens and his outstanding saves. His stop to deny Michael Keane from distance was one of the highlights oif the game that helped secure United’s first away clean sheet in the league since March 2025.

After the match, Lammens commented on the team effort:

It was more about the hard work and the defending togetherness. One flash and you can score, and if you keep it zero, you can win away in this hard game.

United coach Michael Carrick praised both the team’s effort and Šeško’s progress.

He’s going to be a big player for us for a long period of time, I’m sure of that

Everton manager David Moyes admitted his team switched off at a key moment:

We got done on the counter-attack. Most of the game we controlled it pretty well, but in that moment, we switched off and gave them that opportunity.

While it may not have been a classic performance from United, it was just what they needed to keep the streak going.
